 Implantation of the Implantable Collamer Lens pIOL led to a very low incidence of cataract formation. The prevalence of cataract was higher in patients who were older, had high refractive errors, and had older pIOL models.

 Rotational stability of the V4b implantable collamer lens

 These outcomes suggest high rotational stability of the TICL model V4b, with no significant rotation or axis misalignment in any eye at 12-month follow-up. In addition, no eyes required TICL repositioning in this period.

Moreover, refractive surgery may provide a better quality of life in younger patients.

 A combined 3-stage-approach keratoconus treatment comprising ICRs implantation followed by CXL and then Visian Toric ICL was effective in improving functional vision and reducing disease progression.

 Posterior chamber collagen copolymer phakic intraocular lens with a central hole to correct myopia: One-year follow-up.

 The good refractive and visual acuity outcomes and the highly stable IOP values obtained over 12 months support the use of the new pIOL model with a central hole for the correction of moderate to high myopia. The central port simplifies surgery and appears to reduce postoperative complications.

 Effect of Accommodation on Vaulting and Movement of Posterior Chamber Phakic Lenses in Eyes with Implantable Collamer Lenses

 Accommodation and/or pupillary constriction induced by it does not significantly affect ICL vaulting with either the V4 or V4c ICLs. Dynamic movement of the V4 and V4c ICL occur co-incidentally with crystalline lens and anterior segment changes during the act of accommodation.

 Intraindividual comparison of visual performance after posterior chamber phakic intraocular lens with and without a central hole implantation for moderate to high myopia.

 A newly developed Hole ICL implantation appears to be equivalent in the induction of HOAs and CS function to conventional ICL implantation for the correction of moderate to high myopia, suggesting its viability as a surgical option for the treatment of such eyes, because it does not require additional peripheral iridotomies and may also reduce the risk of cataract formation.

 Evolution of Indications for the Visian ICL. Implantation of this lens is not just for patients with high myopia anymore.

 Phakic IOLs are an attractive option for refractive correction, Visian ICL, as well as the toric ICL, are an essential component of any accomplished refractive surgeon’s practice. Phakic lens implantation is not a complicated procedure; to me, this procedure keeps my refractive surgery patients very safe. New indications for the phakic IOL are continually developing, especially after release of the newest model, the V4c.
